A very keen and large chorus interspersed with step out Cabaret numbers and soloists in the choral numbers. The songs chosen were based on song from shows that CODS haven’t performed yet and possibly would like to perform, or maybe will never perform.<\/p>

To enhance the evening with a little competition, the \u00a0two ‘sell out’ audiences were asked to list the shows the songs were from. They were given a few suitably vague hints to help them along!<\/p>

Our band of Ian, Dean Frazer and Phil were in fine form again and our main rehearsal pianist Sam also accompanied a number of the solo items. As ever they were in fine form and a great support to the chorus and soloists.<\/p>

As ever Anton, Angela and their stalwart team provided a great two course supper for our audiences. At just \u00a315 this had to be, once again, the best ticket in town!<\/p>

SHOWSTOPPERS\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 CODS at the Boniface Centre Crediton<\/strong><\/p>

17th<\/sup> September 2016<\/p>

This was a super night of entertainment with all your favourite songs from the shows that have been performed over the years by CODs.<\/p>

The Concert was directed by Mike Canning and was splendidly executed. This concert had everything going for it, not only a choir that sang beautifully together but superb soloists as well<\/p>

Twenty-five songs in all and twenty-one soloists! And from\u201d Another Openin, Another show\u201d right through to \u201cThe Winner Takes it All!\u201d the concert sparkled.<\/p>

\u201cSend in the Clowns\u201d was superbly performed as was \u201cBelle the Sleeping Car\u201d sung by Gillian Mackenzie and soloist Stephanie Morgan almost stopped the show with her rendition of \u201cShe Used to be Mine\u201d.<\/p>

\u201cBring Him Home\u201d soloists, Jason Bomford, Andy Kirby and Barrie Stimson The Three Fivers \u201cwas a showstopper with three tremendous voices really great to listen to.<\/p>

\u201cTell me it\u2019s not true\u201d was magical, as was Johnnie Wood singing \u201cBeing Alive\u201d. What a quality voice. The rendition of \u201cAll that Jazz\u201d was a joy and soloists Buffy Fouracre and Nicki Wilkes singing\u201d For Good \u201cwere just great.<\/p>

The very talented Ian Crew did very well, as always as did the rest of the musicians and I must congratulate Sam Hatchell on key board. He will go far.<\/p>

I just did not want the evening to end. There are many performing societies but not all could bring together such a variety of members and turn them into a splendid choir.<\/p>
