THANK YOU to all the young people who auditioned for Blitz!
We look forward to working with you on this show.
Many songs in Blitz involve the entire company, some are focussed mainly on singing but several also involve dancing...I will be looking for a 'dance core', a group of confident, willing dancers to lead the way in some numbers and take on the more demanding choreography - marked "DC" below.
Here is a list of songs that involve everybody:
- 1) Our Hotel (Singing and movement)
- 2) Tell Him, Tell Her (requires company reactions)
- 3) The Day After Tomorrow (Singing)
- 4) Who's This Geezer Hitler (Singing and Dancing, DC)
- 5) Be What You Want To Be (requires company reactions and singing)
- 6) Leave It To The Ladies (Singing and Dancing, DC)
- 7) Down The Lane (Singing and Dancing, DC)
- 8) Is This Gonna Be A Wedding! (Singing and Movement, DC)
Lots for the ensemble to do!! Remember this is a 'busy' show....with many scenes often involving long passages of dialogue from leading characters, especially Mrs Blitzstein, we need reactions and 'stage business' from the entire company to bring life to the show.
Looking forward to our first rehearsal...and truly WELL DONE EVERYONE! Fantastic auditions from one and all. We're going to have a great show!
PLAN FOR 2014 -2015 .... 'Our 50th year of Stage Productions'.
SEPTEMBER EVENINGS (NB.1st rehearsal Wednesday 23rd April)
A great selection of all our favourite songs from past years, from Zadok to Robbie Williams, with lots in between!
12th and 13th September at the Boniface Centre.
20th September at QE Academy (Upper site) GALA EVENING CONCERT AND MEAL and DANCE.
OCTOBER PRODUCTION ... SS PINAFORE. 29th October to 1st November 2014
Come and join us aboard the SS Pinafore! Celebrate the first ever CODS show from back in 1965 with our own adaptation of HMS Pinafore. Great fun, lots to do, memories of the first production, and a very big sing as the show will include our version of Trial by Jury within the production. Come and perform onstage, or be part of the offstage chorus.
There's lots for everyone to do!
EASTER PRODUCTION 2015 ...... OKLAHOMA!
Immediately after a very busy Summer of September Concerts and G and S, we begin all over again for the Easter Show.
It's the well known and very popular OKLAHOMA! with Curly and Laurie, Ali Hakim, Judd Fry, Aunt Eller, Ado Annie and all the Farmers and cowmen .... Will this be and 'in the round' production, or something different again?
A show with lots of well known songs and and great dance opportunities, not to mention the 'love' interest!
Possibly Rogers and Hammerstein's greatest hit!
2014 to 2015 ...... Lots to keep us all very busy!
